THE AGE OF STUPID… Revisited. Wednesday 12th September at 7.30pm, University of Bedfordshire, Polhill Avenue, Bedford

We’re very happy this month to begin another NEW SEASON of thought-provoking and varied films with environmental themes, beginning on September 12th by revisiting THE AGE OF STUPID, Franny Armstrong’s iconic 2009 drama documentary starring the late Pete Postlethwaite as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, watching archival footage from the mid-to-late 2000s and asking, “Why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?”
Nearly 10 years on from the original release of this ground-breaking and moving film, we ask whether we humans are really ‘stupid’. What progress have we made on tackling climate change? How much has new technology offered real hope?

The film lasts about 1 hour 20 minutes and there is time to reflect, discuss and share ideas afterwards. Join us in Room G011 (ground floor) of the University’s Gateway Building on Polhill Avenue, for a 7.30 sharp start.

Our events are always free and open to all, but we do ask for donations where possible to allow us to cover costs to continue to hold such events.
Hope to see you there!

Our film evenings are the second Wednesday of each month (with a break for summer), same time and place.
