Presentation & Activities Evaluating the Government’s Clean Growth Strategy
In October 2017 the Government published its Clean Growth Strategy, a 165-page document setting out the measures it would take to meet the emissions reduction targets in the fifth carbon budget up to 2032. On Wednesday June 13th BCCF invites you to join us for an opportunity to learn about and evaluate the CGS through a presentation with short film clips and slides, activities and discussion. These will examine their perceptions of where reductions have and will be made; consider the strategy’s reception by environmentalists and green groups; evaluate three suggested long term energy pathways to 2050; and focus specifically on proposed measures to increase the energy efficiency of housing.
Is the Clean Growth Strategy a real step forward in the fight to limit climate change or yet more green washing? This meeting of the Forum should help you decide.
Does it breathe new life into the low carbon sector or does the detail fall short?
This meeting is in the place of our more traditional ‘film evening’. It deals with a serious subject and will challenge perceptions and hope to offer answers for a clear way forward that meets the very real challenges of climate change.
Do join us in the usual place: The Gateway Building (Room G011, ground floor), University of Bedfordshire, Polhill Avenue, Bedford, MK41 9TD. We aim start at 7.30pm prompt. Our events are free but we do welcome donations to help cover costs and to enable us to arrange a variety of films and activities. Hope to see you there!
